One of the biggest train operators in the US, Norfolk Southern, will appear before a panel of senators today in a hearing over the derailment of one of its trains in East Palestine, Ohio.
11 of the 38 cars involved in the incident on 3 February were carrying toxic waste, which caught fire shortly after they came off the tracks.
Residents in the area have voiced their concerns about environmental effects of the incident in which the Ohio Department of Natural Resources said took the life of 45,000 aquatic animals.
