Pakistan train passengers freed after hijack | BBC News

Armed militants in Pakistan’s Balochistan region have attacked a train carrying more than 400 passengers and taken a number of them hostage, military sources said.

The Baloch Liberation Army fired at the Jaffar Express Train as it travelled from Quetta to Peshawar.

Military sources claim 155 passengers have been freed and 27 militants killed. The BBC has not been able to independently verify those figures.

Rescue operations are continuing.
