The celebrity news agency involved in an alleged car chase between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and paparazzi in New York is to launch a “thorough” investigation into the incident.
Backgrid issued a statement saying it was investigating the conduct of several freelance photographers, but added that their initial account of events differed to that of the Sussexes.
New York Mayor Eric Adams also questioned Prince Harry’s recounting of events.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan said the "relentless pursuit", which happened as the couple left an awards ceremony, lasted for more than two hours, and resulted in "multiple near collisions".
