Record surge in migrants attempting to cross US-Mexico border – BBC News

Thousands of migrants from Central and South America are attempting to cross into the United States as a single group, with record numbers making the journey since the start of the Biden administration.

Some 4,000 people, including young children, have made progress on foot across Mexico over several weeks.

It comes as the so-called Three Amigos – President Biden, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador – meet in Washington on 18 November.
