"Embarrassing".
That’s how Football Manager’s top boss described cancelling the 2025 edition of the game.
The latest instalment in the popular franchise was delayed last year and then scrapped completely in February, leaving fans furious.
In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Miles Jacobson revealed how “things went wrong” while the game was being developed and that if they released it in the state it was in, “it would have damaged us forever”.
He also added that “it was the most expensive decision” the studio has ever made and that the cancellation has had an impact on what the studio has been able to put into FM26.
