Reopening Gaza’s ‘gateway to the world’ | Global News Podcast


Israel has kept the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt largely closed for two years. But now a small number of people will be allowed to go in and out. This is a significant step in President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza. So what comes next? And is Washington still driving the process, now that its attention has been pulled toward other conflicts?

The BBC’s Middle East correspondent Yolande Knell tells why the Rafah crossing is so important to Gazans and their views of the plan for ceasefire.
