Russia hits Ukraine’s capital Kyiv with rare daylight drone attacks – BBC News

A block of flats in Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv was evacuated after debris from a Russian missile started a fire.

It follows a string of rare daylight attacks which left people in Kyiv running through the streets to find the nearest shelter.

Ukrainian officials said a majority of the drone attacks on Monday and the early hours of Tuesday were destroyed by their air defence systems.

One Ukrainian MP described the night as one of the roughest nights for Kyiv since Russia’s invasion.
