Russia says sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine would be “act of war” | BBC News

President Putin has said that Russia will not retreat from Ukraine or “give away anything that belongs to us”. He made the comments while meeting widows and mothers of Russian soldiers killed in the Ukraine War.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that Moscow would regard the deployment of any European peacekeeping force in Ukraine as an act of war. He said it would be an escalation of what he called NATO’s war against Russia.

It comes as European countries step up defence spending and seek to build a “coalition of the willing” to support Ukraine in its war with Russia.
