One of Russia’s negotiators in talks with America – President Vladimir Putin’s envoy on foreign investment Kirill Dmitriev – has defended US officials that repeat Russian narratives.
“What is perceived as Kremlin talking points is, actually, sometimes it’s good to understand the position of the Kremlin,” he said.
He also suggested Russia was open to the idea of economic cooperation with America in the Arctic “where beneficial to Russia and also to the US”.
Mr Dmitriev was speaking to the BBC’s Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg in Murmansk.
