Repressive laws in Russia to punish dissent are continuing to be used against critics of the Kremlin’s war in Ukraine.
Olesya Krivtsova, 20, was arrested for anti-war posts on social media, and is now under house arrest.
The university student was charged with justifying terrorism and discrediting the Russian armed forces, and has now been added to the country’s official list of terrorists and extremists.
She faces up to 10 years in prison.
Russian authorities expect total support for the war in Ukraine – any public criticism carries the risk of a long prison sentence.
