Satellite images reveal hurricane destruction in Jamaica’s towns | BBC News

New satellite images of Jamaica show the scale of devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.

Large areas of towns and cities have been destroyed by high winds and flooding, and at least five people are confirmed to have been killed.

BBC Verify show side-by-side comparisons from before and after Melissa struck highlighting the impact where the Black River flows into the Caribbean.

It’s clear most of the buildings in the town have been heavily damaged and there’s debris lining every street.
