Sending money to family back home – BBC News

It’s estimated that people in the UK sent £9bn overseas in 2020. Much of that will have been to family members.

Cedric pays for his mum’s rent. For him sending money every month is like paying his phone bill.

But, the expectation to send money back can be difficult to deal with. Some people have had to make the hard decision to cut back on the amount of money they send to family or to stop altogether.
