Senegal election: Bassirou Diomaye Faye set to become Africa’s youngest elected president | BBC News

Bassirou Diomaye Faye looks set on becoming Africa’s youngest elected president after the opposition candidate Amadou Ba conceded victory in Sunday’s election in Senegal.

Unofficial results showed that Mr Faye had a strong lead over Mr Ba.

The vote followed months of political turmoil in one of Africa’s most stable democracies, after outgoing President Macky Sall tried to postpone the election until December.
