Shooting of British scientist was a ‘senseless act’ – BBC News

The sister of a British man who was killed by a stray bullet that travelled through a wall while he was in bed, said it was a "senseless act".

Dr Matthew Willson, a 31-year-old astrophysicist, was found with a single gunshot wound to the head in Atlanta, US, where he was visiting his girlfriend.

Police have made no arrests so far and earlier said they believed the shooting was a random act.

"The outpouring of love from everybody who knew Matt from around the world has been a real sign of what a wonderful person he was”, his sister Kate Willson said.
