Nei quarti il tennista altoatesino, numero 1 del ranking Atp e del tabellone, ha piegato il tedesco Jan-Lennard Struff in tre set con il punteggio di 6-2 6-7(1) 7-6(3). Per un posto in finale l’azzurro se la vedrà con il vincente del match tra il cinese Zhizhen Zhang e lo statunitense Christopher Eubanks. Nell’altra semifinale, invece, il tedesco Alexander Zverev (2), che si è imposto per 6-7(5) 6-3 6-4 sul francese Arthur Fils, ed il polacco Hubert Hurkacz (5), vincente per 7-6(5) 6-4 sullo statunitense Marcos Giron.
