Six million Ukrainians fled country after Russian invasion, UN says | BBC News


President Volodymyr Zelensky has said 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.

In that time six million people – mainly women and children – have fled the country, according to the UN.

Millions more have been forced to live under Russian occupation in a number of regions of Ukraine.

Two teenagers – rescued from occupied Mariupol and Kherson – have shared what it was like living under Russian occupation.
