Sri Lankan protesters take to streets as country faces economic crisis – BBC News


Pro and anti-government protesters have taken to the streets in Sri Lanka, amid the country’s deepening economic crisis.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has resigned following criticism of the government’s handling of the situation.

Authorities have used tear gas and physical force to disperse protesters.
