LONDRA (REGNO UNITO) (ITALPRESS) – Il leader laburista Keir Starmer è diventato primo ministro del Regno Unito. Ha ricevuto infatti la nomina ufficiale a Buckingham Palace da re Carlo III.
Starmer si è poi insediato a Downing Street, dove ha tenuto un breve discorso.
“Ringraziamo Rishi Sunak per il suo impegno, ma il Paese ha votato per il cambiamento. Abbiamo bisogno di andare avanti, insieme”, ha detto il neo primo ministro.
“La politica può essere una forza per il bene, lo dimostreremo. Prima il Paese, poi il partito”, ha sottolineato.
“Ci vorrà del tempo, ma non dubitate che il lavoro di cambiamento inizierà immediatamente – ha detto ancora Starmer -. Ricostruiremo la Gran Bretagna”.
