Tesla toppled by Chinese carmaker BYD as world’s biggest seller of electric vehicles | BBC News


Tesla has lost its position as the world’s biggest seller of electric vehicles.

The Chinese carmaker BYD is now in top spot, after its sales rose by nearly 28% last year to 2.2m vehicles.

Its American rival, owned by Elon Musk, saw its car sales drop to 1.6m in the same period.
