The upper house of Thailand’s parliament has approved a law giving equal marriage rights to same sex couples.
It will now be sent to the Thai King for royal assent.
Once the law receives royal approval, Thailand will become the third place in Asia – after Taiwan and Nepal – to allow same-sex marriage.
