With one day to go until the opening ceremony, the Queen’s Baton has arrived in Birmingham.
The baton, which has already visited 72 Commonwealth nations and territories, will end its journey at the opening of the Birmingham 2022 Games on Thursday, July 28.
More than 5,000 athletes are set to compete, representing Commonwealth states around the world.
The event will feature the largest number of women and parasport athletes in its history, and it will be the first multisport event to award more medals to women than to men.
