Israeli air strikes on Hezbollah continued overnight as thousands of people fled their homes in southern Lebanon.
On Monday, Lebanon’s health ministry said at least 492 people were killed and more than 1,645 wounded – the deadliest day of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict since 2006.
Fears of an all-out regional conflict in the Middle East have grown in the past week as cross-border attacks have ratcheted up following a series of exploding device attacks on Hezbollah members.
