US lawmakers have grilled the head of TikTok Shou Zi Chew over the social media firm’s Chinese ownership.
President Joe Biden’s administration had threatened to ban TikTok unless the firm’s Chinese owners sold their stakes. But the Chinese have opposed a sale.
TikTok has more than 150 million American users, which includes about five million businesses.
A spokesperson for TikTok said afterwards the politicians were "grandstanding"
