TikTok is being sued by the US state of Indiana with the social media network accused of failing to safeguard young people and privacy.
The company said it felt the necessary policies in place and was confident it could satisfy US national security concerns that have been raised.
Indiana’s lawsuit also raises the question about data and privacy surrounding TikTok users information and how much is sent back to its owners in China.
Other states in the US have already banned the use of TikTok by government officials on work issued phones and equipment.
