Trump says “nothing will happen” in Ukraine peace talks until he meet Vladimir Putin | BBC News

Donald Trump has dismissed hopes of progress at peace talks between Russia and Ukraine due to take place in Turkey. The US President told reporters that “nothing is going to happen until Putin and I get together ok?”

Ukraine’s President Zelensky has arrived in Turkey and said he is ready for the planned talks. But he’s accused Vladimir Putin of not being serious about the process, after Russia made clear that he would not be travelling to Turkey for the negotiations.

Meanwhile President Trump’s Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said he does not have high expectations of the peace talks.
