Two people have been killed and five seriously injured after a car drove into a crowd in the western German city of Mannheim, police have said.
A suspect – a 40-year-old German man – has been arrested and there is no evidence that anyone else is involved.
Police said it is “not assumed that there is a political background”.
They have also not specified whether the incident was deliberate or an accident – Germany has experienced several attacks in the past year.
