Two people dead after meningitis outbreak in Kent, England | BBC News


Two people have died following an outbreak of meningitis in Kent, England, and the BBC understands 11 more in the Canterbury area are in hospital and are seriously ill.

Tributes have been paid to one of the victims, Juliette, a Year 13 student at a grammar school in Faversham. A 21-year-old university student has also died.

The UKHSA has contacted 30,000 people in the local area about the outbreak and hundreds of students have been queueing at the University of Kent for antibiotics.
