The national symbol of Uganda, the crested crane, is facing the possibility of going extinct due to loss of their natural habitat.
The wetlands they call home is being lost to farming, with only around 20,000 of the birds left around the world.
Now considered endangered efforts are being taken to save the crane, and the wetlands they call home.
“Crane custodians”, members of the community in Uganda, have been hard at work convincing locals to give up potential farming land to save their national bird.
