James Waterhouse was six weeks into his first posting as a BBC foreign correspondent when war struck Kyiv, Ukraine.
He was on live television when air raid sirens sounded for the first time in the country’s capital.
Now the BBC’s Ukraine correspondent, James reflects on his time reporting at the heart of the conflict, on the first anniversary of the start of the war.
