Ukraine says it’s pushed Russian troops right back to the border near the city of Kharkiv.
Ukrainian forces have been counter attacking and retaking territory in the north-east of the country in recent days.
The city of Izyum – known as the Gateway to Donbas – sits above the main body of Ukrainian forces holding back Russia’s eastern push.
BBC correspondent Quentin Sommerville is on patrol with the men protecting this critical front line.
