Ukrainian civilians have told the BBC that they have been targeted and shot at by Russian troops.

Natalia Mykolaivna was shot multiple times by a Russian soldier as she tried to flee from the fighting and Natasha, who lives in Maruipol, has been so badly injured that she doesn’t want to see her child for fear of how they will react to her injuries.

In Russia those who protest the war in Ukraine face severe sanctions from Putin’s government with protesters facing arrest and harassement.
