UN peacekeeping mission in Dr Congo turns deadly – BBC News

The UN has been asked to leave the Democratic Republic of Congo after a peacekeeping mission left dozens dead.

Peacekeepers and an 11-year-old child were among those killed during a protest against the UN’s mission in Goma.

The government has since joined calls for the mission to end, but fears suggest the UN leaving could have a big impact on the humanitarian efforts in one of the poorest countries on the planet.
