US Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino and some of his agents will leave Minneapolis following the shooting death of Alex Pretti on Saturday, according to the BBC’s US partner CBS News.
It follows a major backlash over how top federal officials, including Bovino and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, responded to the shooting.
Trump administration’s "border tsar" Tom Homan will head to the city to lead the immigration crackdown and meet with local officials.
Pretti, a 37-year-old US citizen, was shot dead during an altercation with Border Patrol in Minneapolis.
