Support for Joe Biden has dipped since his first presidential debate against Donald Trump, a new poll has suggested.
The CBS News/YouGov poll indicated that 72% of registered voters believe the current US president does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president. Nearly half said he should step aside.
However, the poll also showed that over half of registered democrats still believe Biden should be the party’s nominee.
The message from his campaign team and his family is that he remains the party’s best hope to defeat Trump.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is expected to rule on whether Donald Trump has immunity from the most serious criminal charges against him.
It will be the first time the high court weighs in on whether a president can be criminally prosecuted for actions he took while in office.
