President Donald Trump has renewed his claim that the US needs Greenland for National Security, ahead of a White House meeting between US Vice President JD Vance and Denmark and Greenland’s foreign ministers.
In a post on the Truth Social platform, the US president said “it is vital for the Golden Dome that we are building”.
The purpose of today’s talks is the future of the island, which is a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark in the Arctic.
Denmark insists Greenland is its sovereign territory, a position supported by major European powers.
