Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro spoke after US President Donald Trump was given the inaugural Fifa Peace Prize on Friday.
“Venezuela hasn’t been and will never be a threat to the United States of America,” Maduro said.
President Trump has been threatening Venezuela with military action, as the US has been conducting strikes on boats it claims are carrying drugs in the Caribbean.
Dozens of people have been killed in attacks on boats alleged to have been transporting drugs from the South American country.
