Emmanuel Macron has defeated his far-right challenger Marine Le Pen in the second round of France’s presidential elections, to win a second term in office.
According to reliably accurate estimates, Mr Macron scored around 58% of the vote, against 42% for Le Pen, the Rassemblement National (National Rally) leader.
