Volkswagen is selling its controversial factory in China’s Xinjiang following years of pressure to end its presence in the region.
China has been accused of carrying out human rights violations against the ethnic Uyghur population in the area and employing them in forced labour.
Beijing has denied any wrongdoing.
The German car maker said it was never given any evidence that forced labour was used in connection to its enterprise.
