Global officials have gathered in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly, where leaders called for Israel and Hezbollah to step back from the brink of all-out war.
US President Joe Biden gave his last ever United Nations speech as president, addressing the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The UN secretary general António Guterres said that Lebanon is on the brink of becoming a second Gaza, adding that the crisis has “become a non-stop nightmare.”
Deputy US Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood spoke to the BBC about the need for a diplomatic solution to de-escalate the Lebanon crisis.
