With Monday set to bring potentially record-breaking 40°C heat to parts of the UK, what will be the impact of unusually high temperatures on people?
The Met Office has issued a red extreme heat warning on Monday and Tuesday in much of England, with amber warnings in the rest of England, all of Wales, and parts of Scotland.
Precautions are already in place with drivers warned not to travel on roads in peak heat and rail passengers asked to avoid using services if they possibly can.
Residents are also being asked to check on the elderly family and neighbours.
