A migrant dinghy sunk off the coast of Kent, UK this week, killing four people, as those on board crossed the English Channel in freezing temperatures.

Newsnight’s UK Editor Sima Kotecha speaks to a Syrian man who made the journey across the Channel into the UK and tells of his experiences.

But should there be a new asylum route to make the journey safer? And do we need tighter legislation?
