Thousands of UK workers went on strike for better pay in 1979 as soaring inflation hit the country, known as the Winter of Discontent.
While schools and airports were forced to close, the most infamous incident took place in Liverpool, as striking council gravediggers led to dead bodies piling up.
During the 10-day strike, bodies were stored in a factory hired by the local council, with as many as 150 bodies lined up at one stage.
This caused national outrage, and many of the workers involved were vilified for their actions by the media, politicians, and even their own families.
