The Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro has pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking in a New York court, saying he had been kidnapped by US troops.
President Donald Trump has insisted the US is now in charge of Venezuela as Maduro’s deputy, Delcy Rodríguez, is sworn in as the interim president.
