Why do Musk and Vance want more US babies? | BBC News


The pronatalism movement believes falling birth rates are a big problem for society – and that big families are the answer.

It’s a controversial, fringe group almost exclusively from the political and tech right.

It seems to have support from some of the most powerful people in the US – including JD Vance, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel.

BBC News’s Kirsty Grant speaks to Population Correspondent Stephanie Hegarty about whether concerns over birth rates are legitimate, and what can be done to stop society “collapsing”.
