Why the Brazilian military didn’t step in during the riots – BBC Newsnight

A bitter presidential election, a close result, and social media conspiracies about the Brazilian general election being rigged all appear to be factors behind the riots in Brazil’s capital.

One question for the Brazilian government – why didn’t military police try to stop the rioters?

Newsnight’s Joe Inwood looks at the reasons behind this.
