The ceremony began with tributes to firefighters battling the Los Angeles wildfires, after the announcement was initially delayed due to the blazes.
Wicked, Emilia Pérez and the Brutalist lead this year’s Oscar nominations.
The Academy Awards ceremony itself is on 2 March 2025 and will be taking place in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
