Will digital ID cards make the UK’s borders ‘more secure’? | BBC Newscast


Today, Keir Starmer announces plans for a digital ID scheme.

Number 10 say it would help crack down on illegal working and modernise the state. The previous Labour government’s attempt to introduce ID cards was ultimately blocked by the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition.
