The White House has said President Donald Trump has been discussing "a range of options" to acquire Greenland, including the use of the military.
Mr Trump has repeated his claim that the US "needed" Greenland – a semi-autonomous region of Demark, a Nato member, for security reasons.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has warned that any attack by the US would spell the end of Nato.
