Women in Afghanistan erased from public life under Taliban regime | BBC News


The reality for millions of women in Afghanistan is that they have been erased from public life.

There is a ban on women working as doctors, nurses and in other professions. Mothers even are forbidden from taking their children to public parks.

A spokesman for the ruling Taliban regime has told the BBC that women are being granted their rights according to Islamic law.
