Women’s rights being rolled back in Afghanistan – BBC News

Following the Taliban’s takeover in Afghanistan women’s rights are being rolled back with education being denied to girls, and women forced out of the work place.

At the same time the country is hit by shortages caused by sanctions imposed by Western nations. People are starving and many, mostly women, stand in lines to wait for aid.

One woman told the BBC that “the issue of [women’s] education and literacy is meaningless when you’re dying from hunger.”
